Silicon Studio Corporation, developer of digital content for the interactive entertainment industry, is pleased to announce the release of YEBIS 2, a post-effects middleware that enables the display of advanced optical effects.

YEBIS 2

YEBIS 2 is a premier post-effects middleware for 3D/2D graphics enabling post-effects such as glare representation, lens effects (optical simulation), film/photosensitive effects, real/pseudo HDR representation, and anti-aliasing.

Main new features of "YEBIS 2"

① God rays (light rays)
Enables the display of graphics such as sharp radial flares, coronas, and halos.

② Enables chromatic aberrations
Produces color shifts caused by light passing through the optical system (lens). (Lateral chromatic aberration.)

③ Post-process anti-aliasing
In MSAA, anti-aliasing can be conducted even at mask boundaries that are unable to reduce jaggy effects.

Product features

① Enables extremely high-quality lens representation

YEBIS 2 enables the high quality representation of lens effects such as glare and dept h-of-field, distinct from conventional real time representation.

② The API is simple, but provides advanced optics settings.

The YEBIS 2 API, Offeris \ big time effects just by setting a few parameters. It is also highly customizable in terms of optics-based camera lens settings and various effects.

③ Integration into completed games

Yebis 2 integrates into existing engine workflows, with the ability to easily test its integration into already completed games.

④ Selectable HDR Representation

Various levels of HDR representation can be freely selected in YEBIS 2, which supports real HDR representation by using floating point buffers, compressing HDR information and storing simulated HDR in conventional integer full-color buffers and pseudo-HDR, applying effects artificially to buffers without HDR information.

⑤ Wide performance range

The effect sets provided in YEBIS 2 offer a wide range of adjustments to quality and performance. With just a few very simple parameter adjustments which can be configured with extremely high quality covers and can be made tofocus on high-end PCs and next-generation tools.

Supported platforms

PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system, Windows® (DirectX9/10/11)
Soon to be compatible: PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system, iOS, Android™
*- Compatibility for next-generation consoles planned

API: OpenGL, OpenGL ES 2.0, DirectX9/10/11, other platform specific graphic API
Shader language: HLSL, GLSL, Cg
