Developer life, a new team, a new home in Tokyo

Originally developed in Cambridge, England by the brilliant engineers of Geomerics, in 2017 Enlighten made a big move to a new home at Silicon Studio Corporation in Tokyo. Even with some of the old guard joining the effort, this was a massive undertaking to bring years’ worth of developed technology, know-how, and strategy to a new team, who would be responsible for picking up where first team left off and keeping the momentum going. Thankfully they have proven themselves a passionate crew, who are more than up to task.

Despite being located deep in the heart of fashionable Ebisu, Enlighten has collected a diverse close-knit cast of engineers from the UK, EU, North America, and Asia.

When you are working on massive projects, like most Enlighten clients are, it’s hard to avoid the crunch. Each member, being an experienced game developer themselves, understands this all too well. All tasks and information are shared openly among the team, so that everyone has a say and everyone’s say matters. The team’s global mindset, broad range of skills and experience help to ensure that clients from around the world receive the best out of their development and the latest techniques the team has to offer.

Life though isn’t always work and no play. Ebisu is home to hundreds of restaurants, shops and hidden gems to make every day a new experience. A quieter pace than neighboring Shibuya, Ebisu allows you to enjoy a nice walk in the sprawling city without the overwhelming crowds. Grab a quick lunch or bento from one of the shops selling a wide variety of cuisine choices, or take a break in the park or one of the many stylish cafes. The nightlife is not something to be missed either.

Tokyo is always on the go, but developers here can move at their own pace, without the rush of the city bearing down. Although, being right one the JR Yamanote subway line, all the excitement that Tokyo has to offer is just stations away.
